So being a massive fan of Iron Chef, I couldn’t pass up the chance to try Cat Cora’s new restaurant at Resorts World Singapore. The food was actually pretty good – the starters, including the seafood platter, sakura shrimp risotto, and sous vide salmon, weren’t exactly groundbreaking, but were tasty. The mains were generally decent as well. In particular, I enjoyed the barramundi, and the lobster mac & cheese, although the latter could have benefitted from a little more lobster.
The service, however, was nothing short of awful – slow, inexperienced, and bordering on rude. They forgot to tell us about last order, and tried to stop us from ordering desserts as a result.
That said, there’s something magical about sitting in the middle of a room with a gaping view into the abyss – it’s what I always imagined the dining room would be like aboard the Nautilus from 20,000 leagues Under the Sea. And that’s cool. Pictures are below, shot with the Nikon D600 and a combination of the 24-70 and 50/1.8G.
