i’ve avoided this post for a long time, primarily because i didn’t want to go back and look at the photos of the most fantastical, wonderfully delicious meal i’ve had – probably ever. i will return for that meat fruit. and yes, it is as good as the legends speak of. Advertisements
Borough market – before the hipster revolution, there was Borough Market. And it was a good. A sprawling complex of deliciousness. A temple to food. I really can’t say more than that – too full, going to nap.
I couldn’t resist writing a quick post about the Pitt Cue – a barbeque place in London that is simply transcendent. Not only was the food amazing – the potato skins, beef ribs, pigs’ head sausage, and pork jowl are all must tries – but the drinks were as well. Some great craft beers, and […]
Gave Dempsey’s 2013 hotspots a go – Tigerlily and The Green Door. I must say, I far preferred the latter. Tigerlily did have really good chicken wings though… But The Green Door has a charming hipster chic, and much nicer drinks in my view.
We took a road trip to Malacca for Tania’s 29th* birthday celebration. We didn’t stop eating for any discernable period of time – which, in my book, makes for a great trip! *Really!
My new favorite Mexican joint in town – love the authentic atmosphere, and the food is absolutely excellent. The snapper was particular great – with a touch of spice to it, and plenty of crunch to the skin as well. And don’t forget the giant watermelon cocktail… Good for 4! It also gave me a […]
Yumyum – haven’t had such good hamburg steaks since i was last in tokyo! Shot using the X100. Amazing image quality out of the little camera, although the autofocus – even with the new update – can be infuriatingly slow. But a lack of speed I can deal with; inaccuracy I can’t, and it missed focus […]
Excellent dinner. Great conversation with friends and colleagues. An excuse to test drive the X100. All in all, a pretty good weekday evening.
Had a lovely Sunday afternoon strolling through the Botanic Gardens, then stopped by Nassim Hill Bakery for tea. Their Reuben was excellent – the pastrami postively dripped with flavour, and the sauerkraut provided a perfect counterpoint to its saltiness. They also had a Jaffa Cake cake, which was rather nice. Recommended! As an aside, this […]
So being a massive fan of Iron Chef, I couldn’t pass up the chance to try Cat Cora’s new restaurant at Resorts World Singapore. The food was actually pretty good – the starters, including the seafood platter, sakura shrimp risotto, and sous vide salmon, weren’t exactly groundbreaking, but were tasty. The mains were generally decent […]
